EN        In reaction to Louis van Gasteren’s 1964 film “Jazz and Poetry” (1964) featuring poet Ted Joans and jazz musicians, Untitled formulated a response based on the idea that Ted Joans’ surrealist lesson—between play, political engagement, and universalism—can be used as a blueprint for scripting curatorial practice. In an attempt to echo 1—54 FORUM curatorial framework: “Let’s Play Something Let’s Play Anything Let’s Play”—curated by Karima Boudou—we draw on the repertoire of constraints of the Ouvroir de Littérature potentielle (OuLiPo), to form a performed reading of Ted Joans’ poems. The somehow conceptual expression, “Hey man, where can you read poetry here?” is part of the 1—54 FORUM event Jazz is My Religion at LE 18. It is restituted as a performance and a publication.  The title refers to Joans question to his friend, a Dutch poet and writer, Simon Vinkenoog, who initiated a Jazz & Poetry night at the Sheherazade nightclub (Amsterdam).
La forme conceptuelle finale “Hey man, where can you read poetry here?” fait partie de l'événement Jazz is My Religion au programme du FORUM.
